trying to find an old movie?

there is an old movie i am trying to remember it was about a girl meeting a physic, and she likes a boy. i remember her throwing a scarf over her lamp and lighting alot of candles. it was on the disney channel years and years ago. it had to have been before 2000. sorry that isn't alot of details, but that's all i remember<3 all points to you if you try to help me out the best you can.
