How do you interpret this sentence?
'People in the island of Yap don't need purses to carry their money.'
I think this simple sentence can be interpreted in two ways. My guesses are;
A) People in the island of Yap don't need purses in order to carry their money.
B) People in the island of Yap don't need purses which are used to carry their money.
I guess most English speakers(users) interpret it as A), but do you think it is possible to take the meaning like B)?
(I am Japanese learning English).

The first time I read the question I assumed the people of Yap used something else to carry their money. So, A. But you're right, B is acceptable also. You could read the sentence, followed by, "'People in the island of Yap don't need purses to carry their money. That's because they don't have any money", in an English-language magazine article about Yap.
