Purse Hooks Folding

what should be hung up and what should be folded? (clothes question)?

im going through my closet tomorrow after work and i am taking everything out and starting from scratch. my closet is about 4 ft wide with sliding doors. i have a bar across the top with a shelf that runs along the length on the closet above the bar and 3 mini shelves (about 1 ft wide each) on the bottom..as of right now i have EVERYTHING hanging up according to style (dress/going out shirt/ casual shirt/jeans/dress pants/ skirts/ dresses/ jackets) but my grandmother said i shouldnt hang my sweaters because they will stretch... how should i reorganize my closet so i get the most mileage out of it so to speak..i want to be able to find everything easily and have it be wrinkle free..should i put my "layering" clothes aka tanks and camis on the shelves?

please help

i dont need anything for shoes or accessories. i have 2 full shoe racks next to my closet (holds 30 pairs each) and a row of hooks that have all my purses/hats/belts

The rule of thumb I go by is: if it is something that requires ironing (dress shirts, pants, etc), then it hangs in the closet. If it doesn't require ironing before use (t-shirts, shorts, etc), then it gets folded & put in a drawer or on a shelf.
