Salvation army prices?

I was shopping at the Salvation Army the other day, and was really dismayed by the prices!!! They had a robe that was priced at $30.00!!!! They also price many of their t shirts at about 5.00 or 6.00....prices you would find them new on a clearance rack. I went up to a girl working at the "accesories desk"....who was ironically trying to figure out if the purse that was "donated" was really a Louis Vittan (I don't know if that is spelled correctly...!?!?!?) I asked her why things were so pricy...she seemed pretty irritated by me asking, and what "brand" was the robe!!!! My question is if things are donated to this store, and are meant for people who are unable to afford to go elsewhere why are they so expensive...and why do they need an entire staff like it is a department store?

$5.00 or $6.00 is not a "high" price for a t-shirt. I do not even see them on the clearance racks of stores that cheap, unless they are damaged in some way. Even then it is rare.

The $30 robe - maybe it was a designer robe or something.

As for the staff - probably because (low-life) people will steal from a store like that, just like they steal from regular stores.

I donate a lot of stuff to a thrift shop (in a church basement) in my town. I have no idea what they charge though. I just drop the stuff off and go. But I do know that sometimes they give stuff away, like if someone had a house fire or something.
