How we got our start

Some people were born to shop - I was born to help people shop! It all began when I was a kid helping my dad to sell items at the flea markets of Southern California.

As I matured, I continued searching for merchandise around the world looking for deals to purchase wholesale to pass them on to friends, family and customers. It really started with the 1994 World Cup Games. Then I realized the advantages of buying in bulk and selling well below the competition. After that experience, I gained a stable customer base and got the idea for the current model of bellaireint.com. That experience also taught me a new mathematical formula: TERRIFIC PRODUCTS + GREAT PRICES = BEST VALUE.

When I met my future wife, we visited Costa Rica and experimented with selling garments in that tropical dream land. That venture proved so successful that it paid for the trip and then some. The experience paved the way to a business opportunity we still operate today, importing women's apparel, men's shoes and baseball hats in Costa Rica.

After the world Cup we also discovered that between the both of us we have talent in fashion and marketing for women's wear. Walking thru a mall downtown or even a major department store, there are SOME UGLY (o.k. unattractive) clothes for women to choose from(even at the Hollywood award shows? the worst!) with very little options. That led to helping people around the office; including co-workers, casual acquaintances and their friends. I was amazed how women are soooooo excited when they see clothes! Now, don't get me wrong, they can be somewhat difficult to please, however the discerning female shopper will buy items on the spot no money if they love it, even when they are low on money! That's why I established a credit line. I also discovered in many cases women will buy for others (i.e. their sisters, husbands, kids and etc.) guys don't do that normally. In fact, most advertising is geared toward women because they are the ones that make most of the decisions in our society about what to buy and when. Through my business, I discovered and respect the fact that women are the powerhouses of shopping for most of the households around the world!

Women are also appreciative of the fact that I bring the clothes to them! As the World Wide Web began to become more of a factor in most households, I began to think of how I could utilize it to provide a service for my customers. Developing an online store was the most logical way to do that. The idea grew out of taking several trips and developing contacts in Costa Rica and China. Later I added India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and the list is growing every month.

We belong to several international information sites where buyers and suppliers communicate to develop commerce relationships and share ideas. Therefore these forums provide a constant wealth of opportunities and deals that our customers would otherwise not have available. I am happy doing what I have always loved to do; helping mostly women around the world find those hard to find special items that meet their needs.
