Girls Scarf Set

Here is my 'Where I am from' poem, please criticize it... thnkz.?

I am from Japan,
In 6 August 1945, I suffered with Japanese,
But without submission,
But without being cowed.

I am from Ruanda,
In 6 April 1994, I suffered with Tutsis,
Whose Achille tendons were cut
For not let them run away,
But I ran, even if my tendons were cut.

I am from China,
Even if I was a red-scarf girl,
My heart was always full with love,
Even if I was supposed to devote
‘Chairman Mao’
I was in deep sorrow.

I am from zionist Israel,
I was supposed to set Arabs against Pakistani
So that America would have the power again
Even if I was programmed to listen to America,
My heart was full of love with Arabics.

I am from everywhere,
Everywhere people suffer or need me,
Everywhere people seek for a piece of hope
I would be there,
To create a difference, to give them hope,
And to not be conformist,
‘If they give you ruled paper,
Write the other way.’

I think this is an excellent poem, quite honestly, except for a few grammatical errors. It is very powerful and I like the structure, though it is a bit difficult (as it perhaps should be) to learn who "I" is.

Additional comment: though I get all the references, other people may not understand the meanings of the dates and locations. Perhaps you could write another poem (and keep this one, for it is lovely) using more sensory imagery and less reference-type information. It would make the poem more accessible to readers in general.

Also, I wouldn't be so strict with capitalizing the first letters of every line. Very very good. Good luck.
