What is a dress form mannequin and how is it different to a normal mannequin?

a dress form usually has adjustable measurements (aka bust/waist/hips + more) whereas a normal mann. usually fits sizes 5-9 (f0r women) and is non-adjustable. normal ones are used mostly for display in shops/window displays/whatnot, and dress form is for actual sewing. back in the day if you were rich enough, you could get a dress form molded from your body and get the exact fit your for your body.
