The scarf you picture is not crocheted, but woven fabric instead. That being said you could create something similar in crochet. I would recommend a light weight yarn as the scarf looks quite drapey, and anything too thick would result in something too bulky and stiff. Perhaps a sport weight or dk weight would work, with maybe a G hook. To create that multi stripe look, I would crochet it longways, meaning make your beginning chain the length that you want the completed scarf to be then swap out colors every row or two as you desire to make the striping. You could finish it by fringing the edges, maybe bead the ends of the fringe. You could either buy sparkly yarns or you could get a carry along thread in silver which you would hold with your working yarn to create that sparkle. Hope this helps!
