What's the best matching outfit for my prom date?

To accent it, I'll be wearing silver heals along with a silver purse, and hair clip.

I was wondering what would look better on my date who's wearing a black tuxedo:

-A silver vest with a royal blue tie OR
-A royal blue vest with a silver tie

very pretty dress. i think the silver vest with blue because you don't want to look too matchy matchy...that's tacky.
