Selling on Ebay- Wholesale or Thrifty Shopping?

I have been selling alot on Ebay recently & I was thinking of trying to buy items wholesale/in bulk. Does anybody know of a good place to purchase wholesale items such as name brand clothes, shoes, purses, etc.? Also do all wholesalers require a tax id or does it vary? I have been doing some research since I posted this and it seems that ALOT of people get scammed from "wholesalers". I think I will just go searching for good deals & stuff on clearance maybe. The only advantage I see at buying in bulk & wholesale is you always have "inventory" to resell. When you are going around trying to find great deals I imagine it is alot more time consuming and there is the possibility of not having anything to sell at some point, which worries me because I am trying to do this full time and make this my main income and yes I know it will require alot of work lol. Does anybody have any experience with this? If so I would love to hear how it works out for u. Thanks!

I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for but hopefully it will at least be an idea for you. My mother has got into selling on eBay big time in the past year and i'd say that close to 90% or more of her "inventory" comes from estate auctions or other local auctions. She read up on many different ranges of items at the library so she'd have a better understanding of what to buy and she has done pretty well at it. She spends most every Saturday at local auctions.
